Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from high-altitude vineyards on southwest-facing slopes in the commune of Neive. The vines were planted between 1989 and 1994 in limestone and clay soils, at a density of 4,600 vines per hectare.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in mid-September. They undergo four to five days of skin maceration in horizontal steel tanks at 28–30 °C. After fermentation, the wine is bottled without filtration following ageing and blending.
Ageing
Half of the wine rests for six months in large, old Slavonian oak casks, while the other half remains in stainless-steel tanks. The two portions are then blended.
Tasting profile
The wine has good depth and balance, with gentle fruit, silky tannins and pleasant acidity.
Serving and pairing
It pairs with a broad range of European and traditional Italian dishes.
