Vineyard and terroir
The vines grow in central Tuscany at 280 m a.s.l., on a south-east-facing site with Pliocene sandy soils. The vines are 17 years old and trained to spur-pruned cordon.
Grapes
60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Cabernet Franc.
Vinification
Maceration and fermentation take place together in stainless-steel vessels at controlled temperature for four days. Malolactic fermentation follows.
Ageing
The wine matures for 18 months in new, medium-toast French oak barriques.
Technical data
Annual production ranges from 1,333 to 2,666 bottles. The available format is 750 ml.
Tasting profile
Deep ruby red. The intense, persistent bouquet combines pronounced vegetal nuances with tobacco, leather, red berries and cherry, particularly marasca cherry; lighter graphite and spice notes lie underneath. Structured and persistent on the palate.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 18°C with grilled beef or duck.
