Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from Muraccio, a foothill area of the Parrina estate overlooking the Maremma coast. Its name refers to an ancient wall dating from the Roman period. The clay and calcareous soils are farmed sustainably in step with the vines’ natural cycle.
Grapes
A blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot; proportions are not specified.
Vinification
The varieties are picked separately by hand. Bunches are selected in the vineyard, the fruit is carefully sorted, and the grapes are gently crushed. Cooling with CO₂ encourages extraction of components from the skins. Fermentation and maceration take place in stainless-steel tanks for about 20 days at 28°C. The separate lots are then transferred to concrete tanks for malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The components mature in wood for several months. The individual lots are subsequently assembled and bottled.
Technical data
Alcohol: 13.5% vol. Bottle format: 750 ml. One-piece natural cork. Store in a cool place.
Tasting profile
A compact crimson-purple colour. The intense aroma combines violet, red berries and red-fruit preserve with leather and tobacco. The palate is concentrated and full without aggression, with fine tannins, returning fruit and an enveloping texture. The dry finish is enriched by notes of humus, spices and wild herbs.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 16–18°C with robust meat dishes or flavourful cheeses of medium or long maturation.
