Label / history
Around the turn of the millennium, Mario Piccini set out to recast traditional Chianti in a fresher, more contemporary form for a new generation. While Mario favoured red for the new presentation and his sister Martina proposed yellow, their father encouraged a compromise: orange, also evoking sunsets over the Chianti hills. The resulting Chianti Orange became closely identified with the company; Piccini subsequently adopted orange as a symbol of innovation, dynamism and family unity. A Winter Edition later appeared with six seasonal label designs.
