Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from three vineyards with distinct terroirs: Bric Turot in Barbaresco, Bussia in Monforte, and Pian Romualdo in Moforte. Bric Turot has ancient Tortonian soils rich in manganese, zinc and boron, with fine particles in laminated layers of silty loam. Bussia also has Tortonian soils, comprising calcareous clay alternating with layers of sand. Pian Romualdo has highly calcareous soils.
Vinification
Carefully selected grapes are crushed and macerated for 20 days at 30 °C. Malolactic fermentation is generally completed before the beginning of winter.
Ageing
The wine matures for 20 months in 50 hL oak casks, followed by 10 months in bottle in the Prunotto cellars.
Tasting profile
The wine has considerable depth, good structure and abundant aroma.
