Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from selected vineyards in the heart of Tenuta Rapitalà, at 400 m above sea level on clay soils. Yields are kept low, and the grapes reach full ripeness in the last week of September. The region’s climate supports the cultivation of both native and international varieties.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in the last week of September. A long maceration extracts polyphenols and tannins, contributing structure.
Ageing
The wine matures mainly in steel vessels, with a small portion aged in oak barriques to develop greater harmony and complexity.
Tasting profile
Ripe-fruit aromas lead to a powerful, complex palate. The wine has fine structure and a smooth, balanced character.
Label / history
The name Tenuta Rapitalà translates from Arabic as “River of Allah.” The estate was founded in 1971 by Count Bernard Hugonis de la Gatinais, who rebuilt its cellars and winery after their near-total destruction in the Belice Valley earthquake.
