Vineyard and terroir
The Grillo fruit grows in sandy clay soils at 300–550 m above sea level.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in mid-August. After gentle pressing and static settling, the juice undergoes a slow fermentation at a controlled low temperature.
Ageing
The wine remains on its lees until bottling in early April.

Label / history
Tenuta Rapitalà was founded in 1971 by Count Bernard Hugonis della Gatinais, who rebuilt its cellars and winery after they were almost completely destroyed in the Belice Valley earthquake. The estate’s name translates from Arabic as “river of Allah.”
