Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards lie at 300–550 m above sea level on clay and sandy soils.
Vinification
The grapes are hand-picked in mid-August, gently pressed and slowly fermented at a controlled temperature.
Ageing
The wine remains on its lees until April and is then bottled.
Tasting profile
Characteristic notes include apricot and hawthorn blossom.
Label / history
The name Tenuta Rapitalà means “river of Allah” in Arabic. The estate was founded in 1971 by Count Bernard Hugonis della Gatinais. Its owner rebuilt the cellars and winery after they were almost completely destroyed in the Belice Valley earthquake.
