Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards lie at 300–400 metres above sea level on clay soils. The regional climate permits the cultivation of both native and international grape varieties.
Grapes
The wine is a blend of the native Sicilian varieties Nerello Mascalese and Perricone.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested during the first week and a half of September, while retaining good acidity. They are carefully sorted and destemmed, then gently pressed and kept in full contact with the skins for several hours. Vinification takes place in stainless-steel tanks at strictly controlled temperatures.
Tasting profile
Delicate floral notes accompany a memorable freshness.
Label / history
The name Rapitala means “river of Allah” in Arabic. Count Bernard Hugonis della Gatinais founded Tenuta Rapitalà in 1971 and rebuilt its cellars and winery after they were almost completely destroyed in the Belice Valley earthquake.
