Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The Nerello Mascalese and Perricone grapes are grown in Sicily.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in the first week of September while retaining good acidity. After gentle pressing, the juice remains in contact with the skins for several hours. It is then separated from the skins and pulp, inoculated with yeast and fermented at a controlled temperature.
Tasting profile
Rich and fruity on the nose and palate.
Label / history
The estate’s name, Tenuta Rapitalà, means “river of Allah” in Arabic. Count Bernard Hugonis della Gatiné founded the estate in 1971 and restored its cellars and winery after they were almost completely destroyed in the Belice Valley earthquake.
