Vineyard and terroir
The Garganega grows on clay-limestone slopes in the Soave region. The soils contain marl deposits, and the mild climate of the Soave hills gives the grapes bright acidity and subtle minerality.
Vinification
Harvest is by hand in three stages from mid-September, which preserves a range of ripeness levels. At the winery the grapes go through cold pre-fermentation skin maceration, then gentle pressing. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at 16–18 °C, which keeps the freshness and purity of the fruit aromas.
Ageing
The wine has extended ageing on the fine lees, which adds softness, body and roundness without dulling the aroma. After bottling it continues to mature in the cellar.
Tasting profile
Elegant, fresh and well balanced. The nose is clean, with white flowers, pear and light citrus. The palate has bright acidity, subtle minerality and a smooth, soft, round texture. Time in bottle brings harmony and balance.
