Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The Garganega is grown in the estate's own vineyards in Veneto. Santa Sofia selects grapes from the sunniest, most open sites.
Vinification
After harvest the grapes go to the winery, where they undergo a brief cold maceration. Fermentation follows in temperature-controlled steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine spends a short time in stainless steel vats.
Label / history
The wine is labelled Montefoscarino. Santa Sofia's winery is housed in a villa from the 16th century, designed by Andrea Palladio, which has become the winery's symbol. The Begnoni family has owned the cellars since 1960. Giancarlo Begnoni works with his son Luciano and daughter Patrizia. The estate's whites are fermented in steel tanks and are described as delicately aromatic.
