Vineyard and terroir
The Sauvignon is grown in Friuli Colli Orientali at elevations between 118 and 150 metres above sea level. The vineyards include east- and southeast-facing hillsides, together with level parcels whose rows run north–south. Marl and sandstone form the soils. Plantings date from 1985 to 2015, with approximately 5,000 vines per hectare trained to Guyot and spurred cordon.
Grapes
100% Sauvignon.
Tasting profile
Straw yellow. The varietal aroma combines pink grapefruit and pineapple with yellow pepper, tomato leaf and boxwood nuances. The palate is structured, intense, broad and crisp, with good acidic tension, complex varietal sensations and a long-lasting finish.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 8–10 °C. Suitable as an aperitif and with asparagus, vegetable soups, puréed pulses and marinated fish.
