Vineyard and terroir

The grapes come from Castelnuovo Berardenga in the province of Siena, at an altitude of 300 m. Vineyard yield is 6,500 kg/ha.

Sangiovese.

Vinification

Fermentation takes place in steel vats for 15 days at a controlled temperature of 26°C. The must is pumped over daily until fermentation is complete, followed by another 5–6 days of skin maceration.

Ageing

The wine initially spends 5 months in second- or third-use wooden barrels. It then remains in steel through the summer before continuing its maturation in bottle.

Alcohol: 13% vol. Available format: 0.75 L bottle.

Tasting profile

Deep ruby red with purple highlights. Sour cherry and blackberry lead the aroma, accompanied by sweet spices and undergrowth. The palate is enveloping and balanced, with soft tannins and a persistent finish marked by red fruit and balsamic notes.
