Vineyard and terroir
Produced within the Gerbido line from La Cerretella in Bolgheri. The estate lies near the Tyrrhenian coast, where its vineyards are influenced by Mediterranean conditions and maritime breezes.
Grapes
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Syrah.
Vinification
Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
Maturation lasts at least one year in French barriques. The current catalogue describes the period as more than 12 months, while its technical panel and the downloadable sheet state one year.
Technical data
Bolgheri Superiore DOC. Alcohol: 14% vol. The wine is presented in a 750 ml truncated-conical bottle; bottles may be individually wrapped and packed in a six-bottle wooden case.
Tasting profile
Intense red. The nose offers ripe red fruit layered with sweet spices and balsamic, Mediterranean-scrub nuances. The palate is full, balanced, notably soft and velvety, with sweet, silky tannins.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 16–18 °C; the technical sheet gives a single recommendation of 18 °C. Pair with red-meat main courses or pappardelle with hare ragù.
