The Valdo–I Magredi partnership
In January 2018, Valdo began a partnership with Azienda Agricola I Magredi. The collaboration was designed to extend Prosecco production through a more closely controlled supply chain while combining family tradition, viticultural experience and territorial identity with innovation and entrepreneurial development.
Presentation of Tenuta La Maredana
Tenuta La Maredana Prosecco Treviso DOC was presented at Vinitaly in 2019 as the first result of the collaboration. It formed part of a special cru-oriented project intended to connect the production chain more closely with the individual territories of the DOC.
The project subsequently expanded to include Tenuta La Maredana Rosé, produced from estate-grown Glera and Pinot Nero in the province of Treviso, between Conegliano and the Friuli border.
Terroir
Tenuta La Maredana's vineyards are in the province of Treviso, in the area between Conegliano and the border with Friuli. The documented vineyard sources range from 50 metres above sea level for the rosé selection to 100 metres for the Prosecco Treviso DOC selection.
The nearby Livenza River contributes to a distinct local microclimate. This river influence, together with deliberately restricted Pinot Nero yields, is associated with the aromatic expression sought from the estate fruit.
Vinificazione
Fruit is selected from the estate's best vineyards. Pinot Nero intended for the Prosecco Treviso DOC is cultivated at a yield per hectare below the maximum permitted by the applicable production regulations. The estate fruit documented across the range comprises Glera and Pinot Nero.
Filosofia
Tenuta La Maredana was conceived as a territory-focused supply-chain project. Its underlying principles combine family tradition, attachment to place, accumulated experience and commitment to vineyard work with innovation and entrepreneurial initiative. Greater control over the production chain and a clearer connection between the finished sparkling wines and the origin of their grapes are central to the project.
The estate's identity is also expressed visually: the principal label is designed around the cadastral outline of Tenuta La Maredana, reinforcing the connection between the range and its land of origin.
