Vineyard and terroir
The estate has 25 ha of vineyards on both sides of the historic Claudia Augusta road. The soils are predominantly clay and rich in mineral salts. The vineyards lie near the Piave River, whose proximity gives a distinctive character to wines from grapes grown along its banks, and a few kilometres from the Adriatic coast.
Vinification
Carefully selected grapes are pressed and transferred to stainless-steel tanks. Fermentation proceeds at a controlled temperature not exceeding 28 °C, with tastings on the fourth and seventh days. The must is then pressed off the skins and undergoes malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine matures in oak barriques.
Tasting profile
The nose offers appealing notes of red fruit and vanilla.
Label / history
The name 47 Anno Domini refers to 47 AD, when Emperor Claudius completed the Roman road later named Claudia Augusta. The road passes through the winery and divides its vineyards.
