Vineyard and terroir
The vineyard lies 50 metres above sea level on medium-density clay soils. Vines are planted at 4,500 plants per hectare, with yields of 90 hL/ha.
Grapes
Negroamaro 90% and Malvasia Nera 10%.
Vinification
Harvest takes place in the second ten days of September. The must undergoes a long maceration and fermentation.
Ageing
The wine rests 6 months in stainless steel tanks, then at least 12 months in large oak barrels.
Tasting profile
Bold and full-bodied. The aroma is rich and slightly sweet; the palate is dense and muscular.
