Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown mainly in La Morra and Levice, with a small proportion sourced from vineyards in Vicoforte and Monticello d'Alba.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness. Alcoholic fermentation takes place mainly in concrete tanks for approximately 10–12 days. Malolactic fermentation occurs in steel and concrete vats. The wine undergoes cold stabilization outdoors or in temperature-controlled steel tanks.
Ageing
After stabilization, the wine rests for several months in concrete, steel and plastic vessels. It is usually bottled in April or May of the year following the harvest.
Label / history
The label was created by Pierflavio Gallina, an artist born in Santo Stefano Belbo, the Piedmont village associated with the writer Cesare Pavese. After moving to a studio in La Morra, Gallina became a leading painter of the Piedmont landscape. His work is represented in public and private collections including Regione Piemonte, the Robert Mondavi collection in California, Museo Civico di Recanati and the Regional Enoteca in Barolo.
