Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The vines grow in Friuli-Venezia Giulia in northeastern Italy, under favourable natural and climatic conditions. The soils are mainly sand and marl. The grapes are hand-picked at optimal ripeness and carefully sorted.
Vinification
The selected ripe grapes are gently destemmed and pressed, then cooled to 12 °C. Skin contact lasts 12–16 hours, extracting fine, delicate tannins, particularly from very ripe fruit. The must is filtered and settled before fermenting under controlled temperature for around three weeks.
Ageing
The wine matures in stainless-steel tanks for six months, followed by 2–4 months in bottle.
Tasting profile
Delicate and refined, with a subtle aroma and a distinctive aromatic and flavour character. The palate is balanced and velvety.
Label / history
The family winery was founded by Valentino Butussi in 1910 and covers around 15 ha. His son Angelo Butussi and four grandchildren subsequently continued the family business.
