Vineyard and terroir

The grapes come from Tenuta di Vigne a Porrona, at approximately 350 metres above sea level. The medium-textured clay soil contains abundant stones. Vines are planted at a density of 5,000 per hectare and trained to a low spur-pruned cordon.

Grapes

A blend of Syrah and Merlot. Syrah contributes pronounced spice, while Merlot complements it with an intense red-fruit character. The wine belongs to the B.S.T. Baby Super Tuscan family, conceived as a youthful expression of Tuscan winegrowing.

Vinification

Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by approximately four weeks of maceration.

Ageing

The wine matures in stainless steel rather than wood, supporting a fresh, fruit-led and approachable style.

Technical data

Blend proportions vary by vintage. Latest published composition: Syrah and Merlot.

Tasting profile

Purple-red with violet reflections. The 2023 vintage opens with blackberry and blackcurrant aromas, followed by black-pepper spice. It is full-bodied, energetic and concentrated, finishing with freshness and length.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 15–18 °C. Its immediately approachable character suits informal occasions and drinking with friends.

Vintage notes

The 2022 growing season began with a relatively dry, warmer-than-average winter. Spring brought little rain, while temperatures rose in early May. Rain in mid-August moderated the heat, rehydrated the grapes and encouraged balanced sugar and acidity. Mild, dry and fresh conditions then supported complete ripening and concentrated aromatic potential.
