Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards lie in Rufina, Tuscany, at approximately 250–300 m, with southern and southwestern exposures. The clayey, stony soil contains abundant coarse mineral material. Vines are trained partly to Guyot and partly to spur cordon, with a stated yield of 56 hl/ha.
Grapes
Sangiovese, Canaiolo Nero and Colorino.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested manually between mid-September and mid-October. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks under temperature control.
Ageing
The wine matures for six months in oak barrels before a further period in bottle.

A characterful and comparatively austere expression, combining fruit with broad acidity and balanced tannins. Its strength and robust elegance are accompanied by freshness that can persist for years, supported by Rufina’s cool evenings.
