Vineyard and terroir

The grapes come from the Abruzzo Region and grow in medium-textured clay soils. The training systems are the traditional marquee and espalier. Harvest is usually early.

Grapes

Trebbiano d’Abruzzo.

Vinification

The grapes undergo vacuum pressing to obtain only the free-run must. Following cold clarification, only the clear fraction ferments at low, controlled temperature.

Technical data

Alcohol is given as 12.5% vol in the wine presentation and 12% vol in the technical sheet; alcohol can vary between vintages. Available format: 0.75 L.

Tasting profile

Luminous, brilliant straw yellow. The nose offers peach and pear aromas with a light suggestion of freshly cut grass. Freshness and savouriness lead the palate, extending the white-fleshed-fruit character into the finish.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 8–10°C in a tulip glass. Suitable as an aperitif and with starters, fish dishes, vegetables or fresh cheeses.

Label / history

Terre dell’Abate means “the abbot’s lands.” The line recalls the territory of the Abbey of San Clemente a Casauria and the abbots, emperors and saints connected with its history.
