About this wine
Merlot Veneto IGT belongs to Allegrini’s Corte Giara range. The 2024 wine comes from the Verona hills, with southeast-facing vineyards on calcareous soil. Cherry, ripe plum and blackcurrant form its fruity core, joined by violet and a gentle herbal accent. A rounded palate and velvety tannins are balanced by lively acidity. Hand-picked fruit is fermented in stainless steel for eight to ten days at 26–30°C with frequent pumping over. Malolactic fermentation takes place in December, followed by four months in steel. The 2024 vintage has 12.82% alcohol. It suits grilled poultry, light red meats, tomato or mushroom pasta and semi-aged cheeses.
