About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The grapes come from organically farmed vineyards in the Oriolo dei Fichi area near Faenza, at approximately 120 m above sea level. The soils are clay and limestone, and the vines average 21 years of age.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand from late September to early October, then destemmed and gently pressed. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks, followed by 12–15 days of maceration. Malolactic fermentation lasts approximately two months in concrete tanks.

Ageing

The wine matures in concrete tanks for 12 months. It is bottled without filtration and rests for at least a further three months in the winery’s cellars.

Label / history

Production of the 2017 vintage was limited to 7,500 bottles.
