About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from organic vineyards in the Oriolo dei Fichi area near Faenza, at approximately 120 metres above sea level. The soils are clay and limestone, and the vines are 21 years old on average.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in mid-September, then destemmed and gently pressed. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks with 15–20 days of maceration. Malolactic fermentation follows in concrete vessels for approximately two months.
Ageing
The wine ages in concrete tanks for 12 months. It is bottled without filtration and rests for at least three further months in the winery’s cellars.
Label / history
Production of the 2017 vintage was limited to 8,700 bottles.
