The grapes grow in Leverano, in Salento, approximately 3 km from the Ionian coast.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in the first half of September and vinified using traditional methods.
Ageing
The wine ages in steel tanks.

Pair with flavourful hot dishes from traditional Puglian cuisine, lamb, pork or mature cheeses.
Label / history
Susumaniello is considered native to Puglia. Its name means “donkey” in the local dialect, evoking a patient, tireless worker capable of carrying heavy loads; the animal’s substantial weight is associated with the grape’s richness and productivity.
