About this wine

Vinification

After harvest, ripe grapes are dried for three to four months in temperature-controlled rooms, allowing moisture to evaporate and concentrating the sugars. Fermentation follows.

Ageing

The wine matures in oak barrels for 12–18 months.

Label / history

The name “Amarone” derives from the Italian amaro, meaning “bitter”, and refers to the characteristically savoury hint of bitterness associated with these wines.
