About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The fruit comes from several Ascheri family vineyard plots in Sorano, Serralunga d’Alba.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand from mid- to late October and transported to the winery as quickly as possible. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks for 15 days at 30 °C. Depending on harvest quality, 60% of the must may undergo a further 25–40 days of post-fermentation maceration.

Ageing

The wine rests for six months in stainless steel tanks, followed by 28 months in Slavonian oak casks. The balance of new and old casks is determined by tasting. Wines from several vineyard plots are then blended and bottled, followed by a further ten months of maturation in the Ascheri cellars.

Tasting profile

Modern in style, with power and elegance.
