About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards lie in the hills of the province of Agrigento, predominantly on limestone soils, from 260 metres above sea level. The estate’s vineyards extend south of Campobello di Licata in a band 8 kilometres from the coast. Planting density is 4,000 vines per hectare. Daytime temperatures reach 35–40 °C, falling to 20–22 °C at night.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested during the final ten days of August and the first two weeks of September. After selection, they are gently pressed and fermented.
Ageing
The wine rests on its lees for four months in stainless-steel tanks, followed by two months in the estate’s cellars after bottling.
