About this wine
Vinification
The wine undergoes ripasso on Amarone lees, which contributes to its aromatic elegance and powerful flavour.
Ageing
It matures in oak barrels for 12 months, followed by a further six months in bottle in the estate’s cellars.
Tasting profile
Elegant on the nose, with a powerful flavour.
Label / history
The name dates to a blind tasting in 2000, when the wine tasted so similar to Amarone that it fooled a sommelier. Il Bugiardo means “the liar” in Italian. The 2012 vintage won a bronze medal at the 2015 Decanter World Wine Awards.
