About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The vines are 25 years old on average.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand in late September, then sorted and pressed at the winery. The must ferments for 15 days at a controlled temperature of 16 °C.

Ageing

The wine matures in stainless-steel tanks for four months, followed by two months in bottle.

Tasting profile

Aromatic, with a soft, well-balanced palate.

Label / history

The name Il Disperato, meaning “The Desperate One,” refers to the grapes being “so lonely and desperate in a land of red wines.”
