History
1994
Ca Del Vent was founded in Campiani di Cellatica, on the edge of Franciacorta, as the project of naturalist Antonio Tornincasa.
1996
The first 5 barrels of red wine were made from native grape varieties. Despite the lack of specialist technical equipment, the results were considered excellent.
2000
The winery expanded its winemaking facilities and purchased two small vineyards nearby.
2001
A small pneumatic press was acquired.
2006
By this year the estate owned 6.5 hectares of vineyards, farmed using biodynamic methods reinterpreted according to the principles of quantum physics.
2015
The DOCG tasting panel rejected Ca Del Vent's wines, judging them "too complex and rich" to meet the standard.
Present
Ca Del Vent wines are released as VSQ (quality sparkling wine), not tied to a specific appellation, though made according to rules stricter than those of the DOCG/DOC.
Terroir
The estate lies in Campiani di Cellatica, on the very edge of the Franciacorta area.
Winemaking
The vineyards are farmed biodynamically, with the methods reinterpreted according to the principles of quantum physics.
The first vintage, in 1996, produced 5 barrels of red wine from native grape varieties, made despite a lack of specialist technical equipment. In 2001 the winery acquired a small pneumatic press. Ca Del Vent wines are released as VSQ (quality sparkling wine), not tied to a specific appellation, but made according to rules stricter than the DOCG/DOC standards the winery chooses not to follow.
Philosophy
The winery describes itself as not following trends, clichés, or DOCG and DOC standards, instead pursuing its own approach under the direction of founder Antonio Tornincasa, described as an ambitious naturalist.
