About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The vines grow in the Lugana area on soils rich in white clay, which give the wines a delicate minerality and freshness.
Grapes
The grape is Turbiana.
Vinification
Harvest runs from late October to early November, when the grapes have already been affected by noble rot (Botrytis). This concentrates the sugars and aromatic compounds in the berries. The must ferments for three months in stainless steel tanks, with no oak influence, which preserves the purity and brightness of the aromas.
Ageing
The wine ages for two years in stainless steel tanks, which settles the structure and balances acidity and sweetness. It then spends at least six more months in bottle in an underground cellar below lake level, where the constant temperature lets it mature slowly and evenly.
Tasting profile
Elegant, subtle and lingering. The aromas are baked apple and linden honey, with a fresh mineral note. Acidity and sweetness are in harmonious balance.
