About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from two estate sites in the southern part of the Lugana area, near the shores of Lake Garda. The morainic hills contribute lively acidity and mineral character, while flatter plots of dense, limestone-rich clay give the wine body and persistence on the palate.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand and chilled immediately to preserve their aromatic purity. After a brief maceration, fermentation takes place at low temperature, partly in barriques and partly in stainless-steel vessels. This builds texture without prominent oak notes.
Ageing
The wine matures on its lees for 24 months, followed by at least six months in bottle. Lees ageing rounds and softens the palate and contributes to the dry, lingering finish, while bottle ageing allows the aromas and flavours to settle.
Tasting profile
The wine needs a little time in the glass. Initially, it shows cool, gently saline mineral notes, followed gradually by riper, more complex nuances while retaining focus and tension. The palate combines lively acidity and mineral character with body and persistence, becoming rounded and soft before a dry, lingering finish.
