About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The grapes grow in Upper Maremma under the hot Tuscan sun.

Grapes

The proportions of the red varieties in the blend vary from year to year.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand in the morning, from late summer to mid-September. After careful sorting on a vibrating conveyor belt, they are destemmed and crushed. Each variety is fermented and macerated separately for two to three weeks in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature not exceeding 28 °C. Spontaneous malolactic fermentation follows before the varieties are blended.

Ageing

The wine ages for around six months, partly in stainless-steel tanks and partly in oak barrels.

Tasting profile

Spicy aromas and fresh fruit lead to an expressive, generous bouquet. The palate is soft, smooth and enveloping, with a rich, layered character.

Serving and pairing

Pair with red-meat dishes.
