About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

Trebbiano from Capezzana’s own massal selection is grown on an east-facing hillside in the Carmignano production area. The young vines stand at 100–150 m above sea level on a chaotic soil complex containing alberese, galestro and clay shale.

Grapes

100% Trebbiano from Capezzana’s massal selection. The first vintage was 2000.

Vinification

For the 2022 vintage, the grapes were harvested in the first half of October. Half of the must fermented in stainless-steel tanks at 18°C, with the other half fermented in barriques and tonneaux.

Ageing

The 2022 wine matured for six months, divided equally between French oak barriques and tonneaux, followed by six months in bottle.

Technical data

The current 2023 presentation reports 8,450 bottles. The 2022 technical sheet gives 14% alcohol and a production of 7,950 bottles of 0.75 L plus 50 magnums.

Tasting profile

Straw yellow with golden nuances in the current description; the 2022 sheet describes an amber-yellow color with green nuances. Aromas combine almond, wild yellow flowers and vanilla. The palate is intense, fresh and harmonious, with soft, delicate tannins, balanced texture and a complex, exceptionally persistent finish.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 12–14°C. Suitable as an aperitif and with fish, shellfish, risotto, summer salads and white meat.
