About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from estate-owned vineyards. The vines are trained using both alberello and simple Guyot systems, with yields of 6,000–7,000 kg/ha. Harvest takes place in late August.
Grapes
Made from what is described as Sardinia’s principal red grape variety; the variety itself is not named.
Vinification
The wine reflects experimentation with white-wine vinification applied to Sardinian red grapes. Whole bunches are gently pressed, after which fermentation takes place partly in stainless-steel tanks and partly in wood.
Ageing
Maturation is divided between stainless steel and wood. Ageing potential is medium to high.
Tasting profile
Pale pink with subtle copper reflections. The aroma is fine and complex, alternating delicate fruit and floral notes with fresh scents of Mediterranean scrub. The palate is rounded, harmonious and silky yet also decisive and richly savoury.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 8 °C.
Label / history
Amistai means “friendship” in the Gallurese language. The inaugural vintage was 2024.
