About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The vines grow at approximately 320 metres above sea level on limestone soils and have an average age of 14 years.
Grapes
The wine is made from 36 different Sangiovese biotypes.
Vinification
For the 2016 vintage, the grapes were harvested by hand on 7 October. Fermentation took place at 26–28 °C, followed by 20 days of maceration.
Ageing
The wine matured for 18 months in 500-litre French oak barrels and a further four months in concrete tanks. It was bottled in July 2018 and remained in the winery’s cellars until June 2019.
