About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The fruit is selected from vineyards in the northeastern part of the Castiglion del Bosco estate, at 250–350 m above sea level. The vineyards have clay soils and a northeastern exposure, which protects the vines from the excessive sunlight experienced at lower elevations.

Vinification

The wine is made using the traditional method for dry red wines.

Ageing

The wine rests for 6 months in stainless-steel tanks, followed by 18 months in concrete tanks and a further 4 months in bottle.

Tasting profile

Fresh.

Label / history

The wine takes its name from the villa overlooking the vineyards.
