About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Sangiovese is grown in Romagna, in northeastern Italy. Rubicone IGT covers part of Emilia-Romagna, where Sangiovese is one of the main historic grape varieties. The soils combine clay and silt. The clay retains moisture in hot periods, keeping the grapes juicy and their acidity balanced. The silt supports even vine development and helps give the wine a soft texture. Romagna's warm climate lets the grapes ripen and develop aromatic compounds, while the nearby Adriatic Sea moderates the summer heat and helps preserve freshness.
Vinification
The grapes have short skin contact of 8–12 hours, which gives a delicate onion-skin pink colour and extracts enough aromatic compounds. After gentle pressing, the must ferments for around ten days at a controlled 16–19 °C. The low temperature helps preserve fresh fruit and floral aromas.
Ageing
The wine rests for around six months in stainless-steel tanks, which keeps the fruit pure and highlights the grape's natural freshness.
Tasting profile
Fresh, bright and fruity, with juicy berry notes and refreshing acidity. Made as a rosé, Sangiovese keeps its characteristic freshness and acidity, with a light berry and floral profile. The colour is a delicate onion-skin pink. The wine is food-friendly and semi-dry, and combines ripe fruit with lively acidity and a soft texture.
