About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Barbera grapes grow on Govone Hill, on a south-facing slope overlooking the Tanaro River. The Castello di Govone stands at the summit; built in 986 AD, it is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Vinification
Fully ripe grapes are harvested by hand during the first ten days of October. Fermentation lasts 7–8 days, followed by 6–7 days of maceration, with the temperature maintained at 28–30 °C. Malolactic fermentation is completed in January.
Ageing
The wine rests in steel tanks for four months.
Tasting profile
The aroma is bright. The palate is smooth, approachable, light and balanced.
