About this wine
Vinification
The grapes are hand-harvested from mid-September, with picking confined to the morning. The cool morning temperatures help prevent spontaneous fermentation. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks.

Label / history
The Ceste family’s winemaking history began when Giovanni Ceste (1871–1929), formerly a sharecropper for a local marquis, purchased a farm and began cultivating Barbera. His son Guido continued the family business. Guido’s son Franco joined him after completing his studies in Alessandria in the late 1960s, having begun making wine independently in 1965. Franco also conducted research, developed the family vineyards, purchased land and planted new vines. From the early 1990s, the estate expanded its plantings to include international varieties while retaining traditional Piedmontese winemaking methods. Franco Ceste now works alongside his son Pierguido.
