About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The Vistorta estate lies in the heart of western Friuli, where the land surrounding Villa Vistorta covers 220 ha. New vineyards planted from late 1980 were integrated with the existing vineyards, forming the basis for the cultivation of Merlot at Vistorta.

Vinification

The blend combines three separately made wines from three different years: a young wine and wines from each of the two preceding vintages. This brings together the freshness of the youngest component, the fullness of the one-year-old wine and the complexity of the mature two-year-old wine.

Tasting profile

Layered, inviting and complex, with freshness, concentration and elegance. It is refined, with the fullness contributed by the one-year-old component and the complexity of the mature two-year-old wine.

Label / history

Treanni means “Three Years”, referring to its blend of wines from three successive years.

The Vistorta family farm has belonged to the Brandolini family since 1780. In 1800, after graduating from the University of Padua, Guido Brandolini returned to Vistorta, reorganised the estate and modernised its winery. The villa, barns, cellars and other farm buildings date from this period of development.

Brandino Brandolini, a graduate of the University of Agricultural Sciences in Texas, has owned the estate since 1980. After gaining experience at the Brandolini family’s Château Greysac property in Bordeaux, he applied a French approach at Vistorta and concentrated production on red wines. Working with Georges Pauli of Château Gruaud Larose, he began planting new vineyards in late 1980.
