About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from the 2.5 ha Valgrande vineyard in the commune of Roncà. Surrounded by woodland, the site lies in the volcanic foothills of Monte Calvarina. Its basalt-bearing volcanic soils have east and southeast exposures, and the vines are 8–15 years old.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in early September and collected in small crates. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature of approximately 13 °C for up to 20 days.
Ageing
The wine remains on its lees until spring. Secondary fermentation and subsequent ageing take place in the bottle according to the traditional method. The 2015 vintage was disgorged in April 2020.
