About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the Montecino area, in the heart of Umbria. The vines stand at 220 m above sea level with good access to nutrients, and their roots reach deep into limestone soils, which give the wine its mineral character. The vines are 15 years old and planted at 4,500 per hectare. They yield highly concentrated grapes.
Vinification
Harvest begins only in September, once the grapes reach optimal ripeness. The grapes are picked by hand and taken straight to the winery for gentle pressing. The juice ferments in stainless-steel tanks under strict temperature control at 15 °C. Malolactic fermentation is avoided entirely to keep the freshness lively and bright.
Ageing
After fermentation the wine rests for 3 months on its fine lees in the same stainless-steel tanks, which adds complexity and body.
Tasting profile
Light, fresh and elegant, with mineral character and the clear, natural character of Vermentino.
