About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The vines grow on the slopes of Mount Etna in alluvial soil enriched with volcanic rock.

Vinification

The grapes undergo 16–18 days of skin maceration before fermentation at a controlled temperature of 26–28 °C.

Ageing

The wine matures for one year in French oak barrels, 35% of which are new, followed by 18 months in bottle.

Tasting profile

Delicate on the nose, with a powerful structure supported by elegant tannins.

Label / history

Sole di Sesta emerged from the Cambria family’s experiments with international grape varieties in the late 1990s. Its label bears a quotation from a poem by Dante in which the poet’s love is reflected even in cold, unfeeling images.
