About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The vineyard contains substantial soil differences within a single site. Harvesting is organised in six or seven successive stages, with each passage determined by grape ripeness and quality. Only the cask considered the finest is selected, and the Riserva is produced in limited quantities exclusively in great vintages.
Grapes
100% Nebbiolo from vines planted between 1970 and 1985.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand, destemmed and pressed. Skin maceration lasts 12–15 days, reaching a maximum temperature of approximately 30°C. Malolactic fermentation is completed before winter.
Ageing
The wine is transferred to oak casks in spring and remains there for 24–28 months. Unlike many Riserva wines, it does not spend longer in wood than Barolo Bussia Dardi le Rose. Extended bottle maturation is preferred to preserve freshness and harmony, allowing the wine to become balanced and ready for release according to the needs of each vintage. The 2015 vintage received 42 months of bottle ageing.

Intense garnet red. The broad, elegant bouquet is gently spicy, with dried flowers, sweet spiced fruit and incense. The palate is opulent and harmonious, supported by soft tannins and layered with ripe fruit and liquorice. It combines power and complexity with outstanding capacity for ageing.

Serve at 16–19°C.
Vintage notes
The wine is made only in outstanding years. Wood ageing is not extended for the Riserva; instead, bottle maturation is tailored to each vintage. The published 2015 release spent 42 months in bottle.
