About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow in the hills of San Floriano del Collio at 220 metres above sea level. The soils consist of layers of clay marl and sandstone. Herbicides are not used, and the vines are 38 years old on average.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in September. Fermentation takes place in conical oak barrels without temperature control, with 30 days of skin maceration.
Ageing
The wine rests on its lees for two years in acacia barrels. It is bottled without filtration and matures for at least another six months in the winery’s cellars.
Tasting profile
Highly complex, with a style that tends towards that of a red wine.
