About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from the municipalities of Ortona and San Salvo on the Adriatic coast of Abruzzo. The vineyards face southeast and are planted on calcareous clay soils, which give the wine its distinctive character.
Vinification
Harvest takes place in late September. After harvesting and sorting, the grapes are destemmed, pressed and cold-macerated, then fermented for 10 days at 20–22 °C.
Ageing
Depending on the quality of the vintage, 10–20% of the wine is aged in oak barrels. The remainder matures in stainless steel tanks.
